Hailing from Copenhagen, Denmark, this interesting new four piece first crafted their sound during a road trip across the US and Canada in a van that served as both their studio and home. It was there that Blaue Blume mapped out the ideas for a number of songs before returning to Denmark and settling into a house by the coast to further develop them.

'On New Years Eve' is the first track to surface from the band and it doesn’t disappoint. Mixing the delicate, intricate musical backing of Wild Beasts, with the vocal range of Antony Hegarty, Blaue Blume have managed to craft a hauntingly beautiful sound with equally captivating vocals that leave the listener desperate to hear more.

The track, mixed by Aske Rud and mastered by Mikkel Gemzøe, opens with distant drums and reverb fuelled guitars backing the absolutely breathtaking falsetto vocal of Jonas Smith. At the midway point, the song shifts into a much larger, more expansive sound with the guitars coming to the forefront of the track and carrying it through to its delicate end. A very exciting debut track from a band I’m sure we’ll be hearing a lot more about in the near future.
