We've had our eye on Oxford's Esther Joy Lane since she started popping up on some festival line-ups earlier in the year, and reminded us a bit of Zola Jesus. Mutating new track 'Make A Way' dropped this month, ahead of a new EP, arguably demonstrating Lane's talents in the most impressive manner yet.

Initially making an impression at the back end of 2014 with her 'Dead Poet's Society'-infused track 'Poets', Lane followed up with some dark electronic-based offerings this year with 'Travelling Light' and 'Welcome Back'. The absorbing 'Make A Way' feels like it has more of a hopeful undercurrent (at least instrumentally) than its predecessors, while its somewhat experimental production is reminiscent of Brolin.

The 'Esther Joy Lane' EP is out on 23rd October. Find more info at estherjoylane.co.uk.
