We need look no further than the Brexit and the current US administration or the most recent IPCC report warning of our slide into catastrophic climate change to recognise that the world's doing pretty rubbs these days. And it's something that hasn't escaped The 1975, who have unveiled a thought-provoking (and surprisingly kaleidoscopic) new video for the excellent 'Love It If We Made It'.

Having initially appeared earlier in 2018 as the follow-up to the discordant-yet-anthemic 'Give Yourself A Try', 'Love It If We Made It' chugs along in almost orchestral fashion at times but its reflective lyrics have been put to the forefront in Adam Powell's video. From losses on a more micro than macro level ("rest in peace, Lil Peep") to our wider affliction with 'fake news' ("truth is only hearsay"), both the song and video are a referential take on our modern times.

The 'Love It If We Made It' video features the band performing the track interspersed with powerful images, including various bombings and some of the last moments of New Yorker Eric Garner's life, who died as a result of police brutality in 2015. It ends with something of a call to action, listing several notable organisations such as UNICEF, MIND, and Amnesty, fo fans to investigate and potentially support.

The 1975's new album 'A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships' is due out on 30 November. Find more info at the1975.com.
