Year In Review: Saam Das' Top Ten Albums Of 2015

From Iain Woods' psychologist album released on 1st January 2015 to Archy Marshall's King Krule follow-up released as December drew to a close, 2015 was certainly an interesting year for album releases. With honourable mentions to Young Fathers, Errors, and Lanterns On The Lake, read below for ten of my favourite albums from the past year:

Andre Allen Anjos has this incredible ability to consistently capture and channel an effervescence rarely seen outside outright pop smashes. He's back at it again with 'Back Of The Car', teaming up with lo-fi artist Nate Henricks, to deliver a bouncy new RAC soundtrack to our summer.

There are some acts that you simply look forward to hearing anything new from - Andre Allen Anjos's RAC project is one such act. His 'Strangers' double album last year was a magnificent collection of summery synth-pop, and his latest effort continues that strong work. Check out the glorious remix of Elliphant's 'Never Been In Love', and download the original for free thanks to Sony imprint Kemosabe Records.

We're familiar with Liz Anjos thanks to her vocal appearances on previous offerings from one of our favourite producers, Andre Allen Anjos aka RAC, but now she takes centre stage on another RAC production, 'Keep Pretending'. Remixed: Bleachers - I Wanna Get Better (RAC Mix)

The very last song I caught at this year's Glastonbury Festival was 'I Wanna Get Better' by Bleachers. It's probably my favourite song of 2014. And it's an anthem that I've particularly come back to quite a lot in the last few days, after I was run over on the way home. (I'm okay, relatively speaking.) With his usual aplomb, RAC has put together an ace remix of the track. Listen to both versions below.

André Allen Anjos, the driving force behind RAC, rather cannily recruited a number of guest collaborators for his new EP. We've already seen his Kele and MNDR offering, and now here's a collab with David Monks of Tokyo Police Club. 'Tourist' has tinges of College's now iconic 'A Real Hero', and we like that.

RAC once stood for "Remix Artist Collective". But as is acknowledged on their homepage RAC.fm, "that name doesn't make much sense anymore". Andre Allen Ajos has very much taken the reins, and expanded his repertoire to original compositions. His latest effort ropes in Kele Okerere from Bloc Party and electro sensation MNDR. A bit of a double coup there - well played, Andre. Check out 'Let Go', it's finger-clickin' good.
