After May's "glorified mixtape" [KHI podcast#8], I'm back with my unthrilling vocal insights on this podcast. Still, good music.

This month's podcast has been a bit of a battle, Audacity let me down a little by crashing my computer everytime I tried to edit the damn thing. But it is free and I sorted it out and hopefully people will appreciate the effort!

Taking a quick break from my neverending second birthday guest blogging celebrations ('The Two Year Itch'), I decided to rustle up a quick podcast. Although I really hesitate to use the word podcast here. There is no speakyspeaky here. Which a lot of bloggers still consider as perfectly acceptable as a podcast but I think it's probably more accurately, a mixtape. But with the popularity of [Muxtape], this may be a turn for the better? It's meant to be about the music and not me, anyway.

In the spirit of The Raconteurs' new album, I have rush-released a new podcast. Although seven podcasts in a year is hardly profilic, it's been nice to look at the stats and see people have actually listened to them. Or at least downloaded them. Which is the same thing to me. But back to the point, hopefully this latest podcast doesn't sound too shoddy and even if it does, at least there is plenty of great music to overshadow any of my failings. I've also added a line of description per song, just so you have some sort of an idea of what's to come. Maybe it'll get more punters in eh? No, didn't think so.

And just a quick shoutout to a couple of new podcasts that have cropped up and are pretty decent. Firstly, there's Simon's weekly podcasts over at Jarock [link] then we've got Sid from Music Liberation delving into the world of podcasting at Music Liberation [link].

So it's taken many months but finally my new podcast is out. What better way to spend your February 29th, that once in a lifetime experience. Featuring bands from as far and wide as...northern Europe, in roughly half an hour of great music and me talking as little rubbish as possible. And three bands with associations to my university but I'll leave you to figure which ones they are...

I've been mega busy lately as uni has kicked off again but thought it was about time I put out a new podcast. The reason it's been so long coming is I've been waiting for permission (which doesn't look like it'll ever come!) to use a few tracks I've been loving recently. If you were wondering the tracks were:
Noah & The Whale - '5 Years Time'. Jangly, poppy, just generally lovely, the sound of all your best summers put together. Guest vocals from Laura Marling makes it even more spesh. Great vid too. Listen [here].

Late Of The Pier - 'Bathroom Gurgle'. This Erol Alkan produced dancefloor monster shows why LOTP are one of the most exciting around at the moment. The falsetto breakdown is amazing. Listen [here].

Fight Like Apes - 'Jake Summers'. Any song that reminds me of my childhood deserves a thumbs up. It helps that this is scuzzy synth pop at its best, combining tenderness and rawness with consummate ease. And it has one of the best lyrics ever, "you're like Kentucky Fried Chicken but without the taste!". Ace. Listen [here].

Maybe they'll even feature in a future podcast! Anyways, this month's podcast is relatively short but chock full of great songs. Without further ado...

After a rather long wait and a ridiculous exam timetable, I'm finally back, with Keep Hope Inside podcast number three in tow. You can still download the first two podcasts, just go to the links on my sidebar (above the previous posts section). This week's podcast features two American bands, two covers, a forthcoming single (from the first band to be featured twice on my podcast), the usual collection of exciting new British acts and a mighty fine Canadian band to boot. As ever, some of the best underrated and upcoming acts around. Plus me, sounding a bit silly as usual.

Add me on my new myspace site for this blog too - [link]

I know only did my first podcast the other week (still available to listen to here [link], as loads of you already have, thanks!) but I've been eager and got another one done. Slightly shorter and hopefully with slightly better sound quality, it showcases some of the best underrated/unknown acts about at the moment. Unfortunately this good news also comes with the bad news that I'll be taking a brief hiatus from this blog while I get on with university exams for the next couple of weeks but I'll be back as soon as I can!
