South London youngsters Beau And The Arrows (I see what you did there....) attracted our attention this month with their intriguing, almost ethereal take on post-punk. Their debut single, 'Fix', comes out on April 4th, over two years in the making. But well worth the wait.

You may well have caught 'Fix' on promos for 'Skins' last year but it dates back to well before then, being the lead track on their debut EP 'Bright Lights, Big City'. While it might have travelled under the radar first time round, things are already looking brighter with support from the likes of Steve Lamacq and The Independent in recent weeks.

The single is something of an ode to relationship woes, with the ballad-esque 'Fix' articulating the desperation and longing ("I still crave you") in a failing relationship, and b-side 'Calming Effects' effectively charting the final outspoken moments of that relationship. The hypnotic boy/girl vocals deliver a sense of fragility, in amongst crashing instrumentation and harsh lyricism, particularly apparent on 'Calming Effects'. The end result is somewhat haunting yet equally beautiful.

'Fix' will be released on Happy Release records on April 4th, on 7" and digitally.
