It was a huge shame that Sussex's Kill Kenada failed to capitalise on the unexpected hype they built up in the mid-noughties, having worked with the likes of Regina Spektor and producer Gordon Raphael. A few years on, and frontman Tim Smithen (aka Kscreams) has launched a side project, The Semper Teens. Listen to three of their demos below.

The demos certainly aren't too far from the sound of Kill Kenada, which was influenced by the likes of Pavement, Sonic Youth and Pixies. Indeed, 'World On Fire', in particular, could easily slot in on a Kill Kenada release. Perhaps it was even slated for their third album, whenever that may come.

'Somebody' has a different vibe, mixing elements such as garage rock and even possibly surf-pop, while 'Happy To Believe' is combines punk and grunge, throwing in delicious vocal hooks. Fans of riotous riff-laden anthems would be advised to keep an eye on The Semper Teens.
