Dot To Dot Festival (26 May 2019 @ various venues across Nottingham) // Words: Saam Das
"So nice to see so many people, so early", notes BLOXX's frontwoman Ophelia Booth as the band open the Rock City main stage proceedings at the Nottingham edition of the three-city-pronged Dot To Dot, taking place over the late May Bank Holiday weekend. BLOXX's early appearance is a surprise to some, as this is a last minute schedule change. But it's a welcome surprise as the quartet blast through their spiky guitar pop, including recent single 'Headspace', which inspires sustained pogo-ing both onstage and from the audience.

We ventured to the upper Midlands this past weekend for the excellent Dot To Dot Festival, which followed its Manchester and Bristol events with a successful conclusion in Nottingham. And one of the (many) bands behind that success was Birmingham's Swim Deep. With a new album now in sight, following 2015's 'Mothers', you can watch the striking black and white video for the 'Parklife'-meets-'Songs Of Praise' new track 'To Feel Good' below.

There's pretty much only one thing we love as much as celebrating the under-appreciated here at FADED GLAMOUR, and that's a bargain. Who doesn't love a bargain??? So fresh off our list of best value UK music festivals from earlier in the year, we've collated a few more festivals across the UK featuring great music at an affordable price. One of them's only £2 a day!

Since their support slot on the Spec-tour the other week, to say that I'm a fully paid up member of the Swim Deep fan club would be a little bit of an understatement. Aside from being almost surgically attached to my Swim Deep bracelet and rocking their tees on runs around Leeds, their latest release 'Honey' has clocked up well over 1000 plays on my iPod since its release earlier this month.

Tonight part of me really hoped Swim Deep and Splashh were taking notes on how to put on a show. The the other part of me saw them glide over our heads during a pretty incredible rendition of Spector anthem 'Chevy Thunder'. It was definitely that kind of night.

The Great Escape (Brighton, 10-12 May '12) // Words: Saam Das
There are quite literally hundreds of bands playing at this year's The Great Escape, the self-confessed leading new music festival in Europe. With that in mind, we've narrowed down a list of just ten recommended acts to catch across the three days of the festival, as well as throwing in some more general tips seeing as this is the third time we've been down to Brighton. Keep reading, and come along.

Speak to almost any new music blogger and they'll tell you about the dreaded band backlog. Swim Deep have been just another victim until now. A couple of months after I casually dropped their name, along with fellow Midlands bands Peace and Troumaca, I'm finally on it. Join the trio with their blissed out sounds below.
