Kicking off with 1979, remixers extraordinaire The Hood Internet have been unveiling mash-up versions each week, and they've certainly entered their stride with their '1981' collection that sees fifty tracks from 1981 condensed into this highlights reel of a track. From 'In The Air Tonight' to 'Don't Stop Believing' in just under three minutes.

Lil Nas X paved the way for a genre-bending country-led smash with his Nine Inch Nails-sampling record-breaking hit, 'Old Town Road', which has dominated US charts in 2019 - topping the Billboard Hot 100 for nineteen weeks. The initial traction that 'Old Town Road' gained was partly due to its prevalence on musical app Tik Tok - a path shared by its country rap contemporary, Blanco Brown's 'The Git Up'. And the artist's new video has leant into its Tik Tok origins, included one of its most famous proponents, British teen Harvey Bass.

You may know Andy Stack as one half of Wye Oak, or recognise him as a touring musician for Lambchop and EL VY. He's started a new solo path as Joyero, and will be releasing his debut album 'Release The Dogs' later this summer. We've already heard the dazzling 'Salt Mine' from the album, and now we have 'Dogs'. Whose video appropriately features dogs.

We ventured to the upper Midlands this past weekend for the excellent Dot To Dot Festival, which followed its Manchester and Bristol events with a successful conclusion in Nottingham. And one of the (many) bands behind that success was Birmingham's Swim Deep. With a new album now in sight, following 2015's 'Mothers', you can watch the striking black and white video for the 'Parklife'-meets-'Songs Of Praise' new track 'To Feel Good' below.

The first few seconds of screeching in Sacred Paws' new track 'The Conversation' don't imbue great confidence, and yet the rest of the track is absolutely chuffing brilliant. Musically uplifting but lyrically fractious, it's arguably the Glaswegian indie-pop duo's most delightful work. Watch the video for 'The Conversation' below, the opening song on upcoming album, 'Run Around The Sun'.

Georgia Barnes floored us back in 2015 with in-yer-face tracks like 'Be Ache' and the chaotically brilliant 'Move Systems'. Georgia made a return late last year before dropping her latest single, 'About Work The Dancefloor', today. Watch the track's video below.

We didn't quite take the opportunity to write about CHVRCHES' storming 2018 hit 'Miracle' but this rather unexpected new rendition has presented the perfect chance for redemption, as the band teamed up with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra for a specially commissioned film launching the new BBC Scotland channel. Watch the short (entitled 'Beginning') below, alongside the original version of 'Miracle'.

In a break from our regular programming, we bring you the latest freestyle from 2016 MOBO Best Female Act Lady Leshurr. Mainly because 'Horrid' appropriates the classic primary school playground phrase "liar, liar, pants on fire". No, really, it does. Having initially shared an unfinished version of the track as a freestyle rap on social media earlier this week, she's impressively managed to bash out an excellent studio version and a video in about 48 hours, which you can check out below.

"They say you can tell a man by his shoes. But what does it mean when the soles are worn through?" Samuel Leonard Keith Leonard aka True Adventures opens reflectively on his new single 'Better Tomorrow, Today', accompanied by an intriguing "u ok, hun?" music video which features footage that's a bit like if you pressed the fast forward and rewind buttons on a VCR together at the same time.

There is beauty in simplicity. From the opening bars of understated piano melody and its opening lyrical salvo of "you're a revelation", it's a challenge not to be moved by the emotion-fuelled 'Revelation'. The team up between South African pop sensation Troye Sivan and Sigur Ros frontman Jonsi is for new film 'Boy Erased', which features an incredible cast including Nicole Kidman, Russell Crowe, and indeed, Sivan himself.

We need look no further than the Brexit and the current US administration or the most recent IPCC report warning of our slide into catastrophic climate change to recognise that the world's doing pretty rubbs these days. And it's something that hasn't escaped The 1975, who have unveiled a thought-provoking (and surprisingly kaleidoscopic) new video for the excellent 'Love It If We Made It'.

While 'Life Is Golden' is the first official single from Suede’s upcoming 'The Blue Hour' album, it’s actually the third song released from the record following the orchestral, Morricone-influenced 'The Invisibles' and the rockier 'Don’t Be Afraid If Nobody Loves You'.

Maggie Rogers photo

Maryland musician Maggie Rogers achieved overnight fame when her track 'Alaska' was given a firm stamp of approval by Pharrell Williams during a masterclass at New York University, which you can view (around the 20 min mark) below. She's continued the good work since then, with the spacebar-fearing 'Fallingwater' evoking much of the sense of naturalistic wonder so impeccably delivered to the ears of Pharrell and beyond in 2016.
