It's surprisingly rare to find a song title that actually matches its content but London dream-folk quartet Mt. Wolf have produced one such effort. The pulsating 'Shapeshift' previews their forthcoming 'Hypolight' EP, scheduled for release on April 8th.
'Shapeshift' contrasts much of the existing Mt. Wolf material with its 'busier' instrumentation, bubbling underneath Kate Sproule's majestic voice - the production seemingly changing at every turn, responsive to the inflections and emotions extracted from the vocals.
There's also a darker and more cinematic feel to this track compared to the serene ambience seen on the likes of EP title track 'Hypolight' and their cover of Usher's 'Climax', which also appears on the EP. A new track, 'Veins', completes the EP - set to be one of the year's finest.
