Marlais is probably most famous for doing the occasional remix for Alt-J. And they've sort of paid back the favour by promoting the newest Marlais track, 'One Morning' - as a result, by far the most popular of the Berlin-based artist's deliciously hypnotic catalogue of work.
Much like May's 'Blue Swoon', 'One Morning' uses an outside inspiration at its heart - sampling 'Bad Girl' by folk pairing Davy Graham and Shirley Collins. The folk approach is abandoned on 'One Morning', with Marlais adopting his usual dreamy experimental electronic style. A most welcome style, at that. Even if we seem to be some of the only ones saying as much. So far.
