I'm sure a lot of people fell in love with Morgan Kibby, having heard her vocals on M83 tracks. My love for her came slightly later - in her guise as White Sea. In 2010, she delivered a debut EP that contained one of my all-time favourite tracks with the transcendental 'Mountaineer'. Now she returns with the first taste of her debut album, unveiling the soaring electro-pop of 'They Don't Know'.
'They Don't Know' has all the trademark White Sea elements - from Kibby's glorious vocals to its instantly ethereal feel. There's even almost a Christmas vibe to the track with its bells, covered in an electronic snow of sorts. If 'They Don't Know' is your first introduction to White Sea, hopefully you'll be just as eagerly anticipating the forthcoming 'In Cold Blood' album as much as I am.
