Listen: Little Comets - Salt [EP Preview]

Words: Saam Das

It's been a fair while since we last mentioned Little Comets, who impressed us back in 2009 when they burst onto the scene with infectious indie-pop number, 'One Night In October'. Understandably, their sound has evolved since, and new EP title track 'Salt' has an experimental tinge to it, coupled with Robert Coles' distinctive Northern vocals.

'Salt' very much follows in the footsteps of previous EP opener, 'Little Italy', which sounded a bit like the British cousin of 'Summertime Clothes' by Animal Collective. The new track continues the experimental pop, perhaps inspired by the likes of Battles and Everything Everything. The bass and vocals often hint at something more soulful and bluesy, elements that may be further exploited on the rest of the EP.
