You'll of course remember Golden Fable from our Surfacing feature back in August. Since their debut single 'The Chill Pt.2', the Welsh experimental folk duo have recorded a BBC Radio One session and toured across the UK. New single 'Always Golden' came out last week backed by the even better 'Blueprints' and a glorious acoustic cover of the Manic Street Preachers' 'Motorcycle Emptiness'. Listen to the tracks below.

Just a refresher for anyone who missed Golden Fable first time round - they are Tim McIver and Rebecca Palin, who together played a prominent role in Tim & Sam's Tim & The Sam Band With Tim & Sam. Their new band name is thankfully more concise but the music equally impressive. If not better.

'Always Golden' is built around Palin's angelic vocals, doused in compelling instrumentation and 'Blueprints' follows the...erm...blueprint in an even more successful manner, while their Manics cover pleasantly strips the layers back and offers a fresh take on a classic track. Emboldened by the radiant vocals, Golden Fable do outlandish pop and they do it magnificently.
