London's Emperor Yes are one of the more intriguing propositions that have emerged in 2012. And they haven't even had to use the tired marketing method of shrouding themselves in mystery. Instead, they create kaleidoscopic experimental pop. Listen to their debut single 'Fishes' and 'Wasps' below.
We were surprisingly early on to Emperor Yes, highlighting the trio back in December. (On my birthday, no less.) The two tracks we particularly picked out now form this debut single, the Animal Collective-esque 'Fishes' and the quirky synth-pop of 'Wasps'. A good call that has since led to features from the likes of Pitchfork.
Watch the appropriately bonkers video for 'Wasps' below, and listen to both sides of the single in the Soundcloud embeds below. The single comes out on limited edition cassette on 8th October through Tape Club Records. Also, a band that are definitely worth checking out live - watch out for the confetti.
