Last time we caught up with Sheffield six piece Screaming Maldini, they were hollering their own Euro 2012 football anthem. That seems an awfully long time ago already but they're back with a splendidly rousing new single, 'Summer, Somewhere', from their forthcoming self-titled debut album. Watch its beautifully shot video below.

The opening piano-driven melodrama of 'Summer, Somewhere' builds to a rousing anthem, carrying on with the bombast and sweeping multi-instrumentation of previous Screaming Maldini releases. "It's always summer, somewhere" is the cry from the band, and as we descend on the typically bleak end of the year, this single seems ever more appropriate. It's also probably a metaphor or something.

It's rare for even a great independent band to have a video befitting the quality music but Ogle Film & Media have knocked one out of the park on 'Summer, Somewhere'. Got a bit of a 'Trainspotting' meets 'The Sound Of Music' vibe. Pats on the back all round, me thinks.

'Summer, Somewhere' is out this week, purchase at Bandcamp. For more info, head to screamingmaldini.net.
