Paul Thomas Anderson is widely considered one of the world's foremost filmmakers, with the likes of 'Boogie Nights', 'There Will Be Blood', and 'The Master' in his back catalogue. Whether Paul Thomas Saunders can reach similar heights in the music game remains to be seen but the majesty of 'Kawai Celeste' suggests it's certainly a possibility.
I actually caught Saunders and his live entourage at Bushstock 2012, where I briefly enjoyed a set which fell between "widescreen dream pop and electro-folk" before I got in a bit of a huff. 'Kawai Celeste' continues the captivating sounds which I had previously heard, with a bit of a Kraftwerk-esque twist for its intro. A good sign for forthcoming album 'Beautiful Desolation'.
