Surfacing: HART [New Act]

Expanding his sound, and working with such esteemed musicians as Nico Muhly, gave London folk artist Daniel Pattison a new lease of life - metamorphosing into HART. He's successfully captured the intimacy of early Bon Iver on his debut track, 'Anchor', despite a string (pun intended) of other elements.

It was Muhly's name that was particularly the draw for me, having found myself enamoured by his orchestral arrangements for Sigur Ros frontman Jonsi's superb 2010 solo album 'Go'. His subsequent collaboration with HART fits the pattern of combining with an angelic vocalist, albeit seemingly taking more of a subtle approach in this instance. We'll see if the subtleties continue on further tracks, which are set to make up HART's debut EP, the forthcoming 'Songs Of Late Summer'.
