I was searching through Spotify the other day and I rediscovered Pull Tiger Tail - the spirited indie trio who never quite got the acclaim they deserved before splitting a few years back. A little bit of investigating later and I found that two of the threesome are now in new project Thumpers. The duo play their debut show in London tomorrow evening but listen below to get an initial taste.

Thumpers is very much a rebirth for Marcus Ratcliff and Jack Hamson, moving in a different direction to their previous work in Pull Tiger Tail. The sample-laden 'Sound Of Screams' mixes the glee of The Polyphonic Spree with lashings of summery dream-pop. On the basis of this track, it's already a triumphant return - although coverage has been limited thus far.

Unfortunately, the band have taken down 'Unkinder (A Tougher Love)' but hopefully that song will be re-unveiled along with other demos like 'Parachutes', 'Running Rope', 'Dancing's Done' and 'Now We Are Sixteen'. Come on chaps, share the love - we can't wait to hear more. Download 'Sound Of Screams' at Stereogum.

Thumpers play The Sebright Arms in London tomorrow evening for free. Keep up to date at thumpers.co.
