Wolverhampton's Silhouettes aren't actually that new but they were new to these ears and perhaps to yours too. The band have released a couple of EPs since their formation in 2009 but are only now gearing upto their debut album release, out in early 2014 through Integrity Records, headed by the terrific Prince-influenced 'Gold Tag'.

The band's self-diagnosed influences come from the likes of Massive Attack and Bon Iver yet new single 'Gold Tag' takes after Prince's 'I Would Die 4 U'. At least in melody, anyway. The radio edit of 'Gold Tag' seems to be the most ostensibly pop single up their sleeve, with tracks such as 'Pearl Of Jamaica' sounding more akin to Radiohead and others coming with heavier electronic elements. Either way, colour us intrigued by Silhouettes.
