I've never been all that bothered about song lyrics - for me, melodies trump messages - but there's a certain absurdism about the everyday words of the new track from Lovestarrs. Following up from debut single 'Get Your Sexy On', 'Life Is A Bitch' embodies its straight-shooting title lyrically, combining it with an infectious bubblegum pop sound.
"If you're happy and you know it, life will bite you in the arse." I can imagine that being a sentiment shared in many pubs across the country, as folks drown their sorrows with a pint of premium lager. Luckily for Lovestarrs fans, the bittersweet lyrics are enveloped in a tropical synthy sound - raising smiles and spirits in spite of the cruelly reflective words. 'Life Is A Bitch' appears on the forthcoming 'Supernova' EP.
