Regular readers will be quite familiar with my soft spot (perhaps I'll go as far as saying penchant) for female-led, synth-driven pop - London-based American solo artist Hannah Jane Lewis has delivered a fine example with her rhetorical debut single 'Why Start A War'. Listen and ponder below.

Hannah's been plotting her sound for a few years now, mainly via acoustic live covers on YouTube, most recently roping in the likes of Andrea Rocha and Lostboy to aid with writing and production on 'Why Start A War'. It's an approach that has paid dividends, and her new output suggests big things - bustling synth-pop reminiscent of Ryn Weaver or Marina & The Diamonds.
