I'm not sure what the general perception is of Maroon 5 these days - I imagine it's something along the lines of "throwaway mainstream pop act". On this evidence, that would be an unfair statement as the American outfit's latest single 'Wait' is a stormer. A dazzling mix of RnB and pop, complete with an absurdly brilliant video that you can view below, alongside a new remix by rapper A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie.

Today's announcement of the passing of The Fall frontman Mark E Smith is the latest in a sad string of deaths in the music world, following the recent news regarding Dolores O'Riordan of The Cranberries and emo-inspired US rapper-but-maybe-not Lil Peep. We'll be focussing on the latter today, and this posthumous collaboration with dance producer Marshmello acts as a fitting celebration of Lil Peep's talent. Check out 'Spotlight' below.

Rockaway Beach (12-14 Jan '18, Butlin's Bognor Regis) // Words: Saam Das
Few music festivals can claim to offer top bands, a roof over your head, and a water-based adventure park all included in the (very reasonable) ticket price, but Rockaway Beach has stepped up to meet these unique needs. Now entering its third year, the first major UK festival of the year kicks off this weekend, featuring the likes of Gang Of Four, Alabama 3, and one of the final performances of the departing Wild Beasts. We've picked out some potential festival highlights across the 2018 edition of Rockaway Beach:
