Rockaway Beach (12-14 Jan '18, Butlin's Bognor Regis) // Words: Saam Das
Few music festivals can claim to offer top bands, a roof over your head, and a water-based adventure park all included in the (very reasonable) ticket price, but Rockaway Beach has stepped up to meet these unique needs. Now entering its third year, the first major UK festival of the year kicks off this weekend, featuring the likes of Gang Of Four, Alabama 3, and one of the final performances of the departing Wild Beasts. We've picked out some potential festival highlights across the 2018 edition of Rockaway Beach:

So we reach the end of another year and this is my ten-song playlist to close what has been a memorable year for music. Every song is here for a reason, as you will see, so enjoy 50 minutes of simple pleasures from the likes of Trailer Trash Tracys, Craig Finn, Blowgoat and Mogwai.

This sporadic column will feature music from the outer edges and will try to find interesting stuff from beyond the range of comfortable listening. This time we feature three new releases by emerging bands from across the United Kingdom, each of which puts the case for a renewed vigor in the UK hardcore music scene. For more on Pulled Apart By Horses, Lantern For A Gale and Last Witness, keep reading.
