It doesn't feel all that long ago that we caught Wild Beasts at Rockaway Beach 2018 - a bittersweet memory, reflective both of an impressive performance and sadness that this was to be one of their final live appearances. Now formally disbanded, former Wild Beasts' member Hayden Thorpe has once again unleashed his characteristic falsetto onto the masses, with the emergence of his first solo material. Listen to debut track, 'Diviner', below.

Thorpe has previously collaborated with a diverse range of other musicians while still part of Wild Beasts, including Darkstar and Kuedo, indicating a desire to broaden his horizons. 'Diviner' is a tender solo opener, driven by quietly majestic piano melodies and whispered vocals. Its haunting nature is matched by a ghostly (yet far from ghastly) video by Crowns & Owls, who have also directed music videos for Hercules & Love Affair and Toby Gale.

'Diviner' is out now through Domino Records. Find more info at haydenthorpe.com.
