Having built a formidable reputation through their energetic live shows, 2020 should have seen Haiku Hands absolutely dominate the festival circuit with their blistering girl-power-infused synthy dance-pop. For good reason, that didn't happen this year for the Aussie triumvirate. But through all the bad news, we're pleased to confirm that their self-titled debut album has channelled their performances most excellently.

We've been banging on about the greatness of Sydney trio Haiku Hands, and it looks like we're not the only ones who have been utterly enamoured by both their music and fiery live shows, having just been snapped up by Diplo's Mad Decent record label. Joining the likes of Major Lazer and Snoop Dogg's Snoop Lion persona on the roster, Haiku Hands will be unleashing their debut album in 2020. In the meantime, listen to new single 'Onset' below.

We've had the pleasure of going to a number of gigs and festivals across the year and across the lands - from our native London to Sussex coastal voyages to Rockaway Beach and The Great Escape, with a cheeky debut visit to Handmade Festival in Leicester. We've collated fifteen of our favourite live sets of 2018 below.

Sydney threesome Haiku Hands are off out on an Aussie tour this February, and to celebrate, they're putting out their latest spiky dance-fuelled anthem, 'Dare You Not To Dance'. Having seen them play in the UK three times in 2018, we're happy to confirm that they are a flipping brilliant live outfit but in case you've missed out on the Haiku Hands bandwagon, the new single serves as an appropriate introduction.

It's been a cool fourteen-and-a-half years since we last graced Elephant & Castle for a gig - The Libertines at The Coronet in April 2004, if you must know - but we were happy to make our musical concert return to the South London area for this European tour date of Aussie ruffians Haiku Hands. Quite simply, they're one of the finest live bands going today, with their unique Beastie Boys-doing-beat-laden-pop vibe.

Haiku Hands might be the best new band you haven't yet heard. Or at least the most fun new band. The Aussie trio dazzled UK audiences earlier this year - probably our favourite performance of The Great Escape 2018 - and are heading back for another UK tour beginning imminently. In the meantime, they've put out their latest track, 'Squat', with afro bounce outfit True Vibenation.
