Canadian electro twosome Purity Ring made an unexpected yet welcome return last week, with new single 'Push Pull' - and quite frankly, we haven't heard enough good things said about it. So here we are. The newest effort is their most "pop" track to date, while sparkling with the same vibrant and off-kilter energy that characterised their initial success.

At FADED GLAMOUR, we picked some of our favourite albums of 2012 and put them together in a list of 25 below. Pop, R&B, hip hop and yes, even guitar music all seem to have thrived according to our top 25 albums of 2012.

A lot of people are getting excited about the Purity Ring debut album, 'Shrines', which is scheduled to come out in July. And lucky us, we get it a day earlier than our North American buds. Fantastical Canadian electro-something duo Purity Ring made a splash last year with 'Ungirthed' and 'Lofticries', their debut 7" release, which came out on Transparent Records. Several special, limited edition singles came out on April 16th this year and well, it'd be a nightmare going through all of those on top of my bursting lists of regular singles. Surfacing: Purity Ring

Warped electro-pop duo Purity Ring emerged as the talk of the blogosphere at the end of January, when their track 'Ungirthed' was unleashed onto the internet. That track is now coming out as their debut single on Transparent Records, paired with the equally dazzling 'Lofticries'.
