Surfacing: F.U.R.S [New Band]

There appears to be a number of bands coming through at the moment with real garage guitar pop influences, and F.U.R.S are no exception. Led by brother and sister Liam and Elle Wade and featuring drummer Olly Bets, the London-based band have announced details of the release of their debut single 'Striptease'.

I must admit that on a first listen, the track did seem fairly forgettable and it was only as the day went on and I found myself humming the melody that I went back to give it another chance. A few plays in and my opinion had completely transformed. 'Striptease' is a beautifully simple, unhurried pop record, with obvious roots in 60's psyche-pop.

It is a real grower and a song that will hopefully see their audience grow as they take their show on the road. The end of last year saw them play a handful of their own headline shows around London plus support slots with the likes of MS MR, Allah La’s and Gabriel Bruce, and March 2013 will see the band head out on an extensive UK tour supporting Johnny Marr. Watch this space though, as the band will also be shortly announcing their own headline shows around the release of the single.

Available as a limited edition 7” through Loose Lips Records on March 25th. Find more info at fursband.com.
