Interestingly, Hull quintet Low Hummer took their name from a previous track in their old La BĂȘte Blooms guise. With debut single/synth juggernaut 'Don't You Ever Sleep' coming out this past week, we're excited about their future. Particularly as it's been released on the celebrated Dance To The Radio label.

You might remember Dance To The Radio as the platform that helped launch the likes of The Pigeon Detectives and ¡Forward, Russia!. It's easy to see why the Leeds label have got behind the post-punk-led Low Hummer, whose official Devo-esque debut single 'Don't You Ever Sleep' is arresting from the outset with its striking synths. Their LCD Soundsytem-influenced debut track 'Us Up North' was another that caught our eyes, or rather, ears. Low Hummer, high ceiling.
