One of my ambitions for 2015 was to listen to more albums. I wouldn't exactly say I'm going great guns on that one, having taken in Boxed In's self-titled debut and Iain Woods's long-awaited album. Titled 'Psychologist' after his former moniker, it's an intriguing effort that blends his earlier introspective material with more explosive tracks. I was starting to get worried that Iain Woods was never going to return as Psychologist, having been utterly enamoured with his beautiful 'Waves Of OK' EP back in 2011. But it turns out I simply missed the news of his return, which came earlier in the year with 'When Particles Collide'. Now he's unveiled news of the long awaited Psychologist album and a track from it - listen to 'Worlds Away' below.

I studied a fair bit of psychology at university, traversing everything from the more health and clinically related aspects through to organisational/business psych. I never really fancied being a psychologist though. Unlike Iain Woods. Sort of anyway. His spine-tingling solo outfit Psychologist finally released its debut EP this coming Monday.
