Yesterday I ventured down to the Olympic Park for the first time to witness some early morning hockey - one of the first sights being the track cycling velodrome. And seeing it up close, the venue really is quite remarkable. Dance legends The Chemical Brothers have created a suitably brilliant track of their own to commemorate the velodrome. Listen to the radio edit and extended mix below.
We wrote about one of the other official Olympic songs, Delphic's electro-pop stormer 'Good Life', and this is equally brilliant - albeit in a significantly different style. Inspired by Kraftwerk, who wrote a track called 'Tour de France', 'Theme For Velodrome' begins in a rousing, orchestral fashion before metamorphosing in a pulsating electronic monster.
