A few sites have wrote about the debut EP from iAm1, a genre-mashing duo formed of MC Jamie Williams and acoustic songwriter Oli Rose. Unfortunately, the ones I've come across have either copied the press release verbatim or neglected to write anything more than a sole paragraph. That's depressing for everyone involved. Seeing as I went to a bit more effort, hopefully you'll read on and listen to their dulcet folk-hop tunes.
The duo met up at Westminster University back in 2008 and have released a couple of singles under the slightly different I Am One Project moniker. It's only now that they've come up on my radar, and have done so in stunning fashion. 'Watching' is the first track unleashed from their EP of the first name and it juxtaposes their styles magnificently, against a beautifully serene orchestral background.
The track ends on the profound lyric: "You have to be prepared to lose everything, in order to win it all". You have to suspect that both artists have had to overcome abrasion from their peers in joining together - but now it's their chance to make it big.
