It's been something of a quiet start to the year for South coast duo CURXES but they've returned with an unexpected comeback today, in the form of free download 'Further Still'. Its style is similarly unexpected, taking a significantly less dark/bombastic approach that the band are otherwise known for. A compelling change-up.
CURXES gathered steam last year with a couple of terrific singles, 'Haunted Gold' and 'Spectre', adding an electro-pop twist to an industrial foundation. Whether 'Further Still' hints at a wholesale change in sound remains to be seen. For now, enjoy 'Further Still' - emerging somewhere between a musical number from a Disney classic to Zola Jesus' finest.
