Surfacing: Adventure Galley [New Music]

Adventure Galley were once signed to MySpace Records. Unfortunately, that was back in 2010 - by which time, MySpace was already on the wane and the venture proved fruitless. 2012 however will see this Portland sextet's debut album come out, hopefully including the magnificent 'Weekend Lovers', which you can listen to below.

Nick, who manages Toronto band Bravestation, gave us the heads up on Adventure Galley and has let us know that the band recorded their forthcoming album, 'Anywhere That's Wild' with Dave Trumfio. Trumfio has worked with the likes of Wilco, Grandaddy and The Jesus And Mary Chain - not bad company to be in.

Other bloggers seem to have fallen for the Adventure Galley track 'Addict' but for me, their biggest highlight is 'Weekend Lovers'. A dream pop intro gives way to a rousing Arcade Fire-esque anthem, with swirling synths. Vocally, there's a clear comparison to Alex Kapranos of another band who had a good eye for an anthem, Franz Ferdinand.

Get ready to pogo around your room. Watch the video for 'Weekend Lovers' above and better yet, download it for absolutely nothing in the Soundcloud embed below. Lucky you.
