Sometimes we don't give pop quite the attention it deserves at FADED GLAMOUR. Then again, our definition of pop is probably looser than most people's. Anyway, here our ten favourite pop tracks of 2012, in a handy YouTube playlist. Gingers, Koreans, Girl Power - we've got it all covered.

2012. The year that guitar music died. The year that hip hop died. The year that dubstep died. No. None of these things happened. 2012 was as healthy a year for music as any. At FADED GLAMOUR, we picked some of our favourite albums of 2012 and put them together in a list of 25 below. Pop, R&B, hip hop and yes, even guitar music all seem to have thrived according to our top 25 albums of 2012.

Ellie Goulding's 2010 debut album 'Lights' didn't quite live up to her initial promise. For me, at least. Listen below to one of the pop singles of the year.

A lot of people got excited when Surrey singer-songwriter Ellie Goulding started collaborating with electronic producer Starsmith. I wasn't quite as hyped, although I did rather enjoy the chorus to her breakout single 'Starry Eyed'. Here she indirectly collaborates with another electronic producer, Blood Diamonds, and the result is fist-pumpingly triumphant.
