Remixed: A.G. Cook - '2021' (umru Remix)

"Everything you do, it's been done, done, done before." PC Music head honcho A.G. Cook nailed some of the core pandemic vibes of apathy and despair with '2021', originally released on their 2020 debut album, '7G'. Not content with releasing a 49(!) track long album, Cook subsequently released another album ('Apple') just weeks later, which was followed in 2021 by a remix album reflecting on the two aforementioned releases, 'Apple vs 7G'. Charli XCX collaborator umru took the reins for the latter's '2021' remix, which you can hear below alongside the original.

Remixed: 100 gecs - 'Ringtone' (Remix Feat. Charli XCX, Rico Nasty, Kero Kero Bonito)

Having put out music together since the mid-2010s, Dylan Brady and Laura Les encountered a paradigm shift last year for their 100 gecs project. Their experimental pop delivered one of the best albums of 2019 in an exhilarating 23 minute ride. One of the masterpieces of the '1000 gecs' album was the particularly poppy 'Ringtone', which has had the remix treatment from a golden trio - Kero Kero Bonito, Rico Nasty, and Charli XCX.

Remixed: Overcoats - 'Leave If You Wanna' (Ryan Hemsworth Remix)

New York duo Overcoats are gearing up for the release of their second album, 'The Fight', out in March on Lomo Vista. Joining a diverse roster including Andrew Bird, Marilyn Manson, and St. Vincent, they've also recently been remixed by Canadian producer Ryan Hemsworth, himself no stranger to remixing a diverse range of artists from The 1975 to t.A.t.U. Remixed: Julietta - Stripes + Squares (Penguin Prison Remix)

New Yorker Julia Libani recently released her debut album 'Smooth Sailing' under her Julietta guise, and as an off-shoot, she managed to recruit Penguin Prison (aka Chris Glover) to twiddle the knobs on a remix of her album track 'Stripes + Squares'. The gleaming remix follows Penguin Prison's own recent comeback single, 'The Heat' - listen to both new tracks below.

Late noughties outfits Dananananaykroyd and Operator Please may not have had all that much in common aside from some serious blog love, but now they've come together (in a sense) as Bossy Love. Combining John Baillie Junior and Amandah Wilkinson from the former and latter outfits respectively, the duo of Bossy Love isn't quite Blu Cantrell and Sean Paul (but who could be?!) yet their own twist on 2003 UK #1 single 'Breathe' is fire.

Remixed: St. Vincent - Fast Slow Disco [Jack Antonoff Rework]

"Why does the new St. Vincent track sound a bit like Robyn, LCD Soundsystem, and Fischerspooner all at the same time?", I hear you quietly ask, just before you've lost yourself in its utter brilliance. Well, I suppose you'd look no further than its two main actors - Annie Clark whose existing 'Slow Disco' has been given a masterful tweak by the prodigiously talented Jack Antonoff of Bleachers.

Remixed: Pumarosa - Priestess (Shura Remix)

Shura has been continuing her impressive rise, having appeared this week on the musical rite-of-passage that is 'Later With Jools Holland', while London quintet Pumarosa have been lighting up the blog world of late. Their sprawling, hypnotic seven minute debut single 'Priestess' gets a reworking from the typically more concise Shura.

Remixed: Sum 41 - In Too Deep (Hemsworth's Canadian Heritage Version)

It seems that Ryan Hemsworth has been feeling nostalgic of late, following his synth-based remix of blink-182's 'Feeling This' with a take on Sum 41's seminal 'In Too Deep' from 2001 debut album 'All Killer, No Filler'. Listen to his Canadian Heritage Version below.

Remixed: Spector - All The Sad Young Men (Fairewell Remix)

Spector's 2013 debut album 'Enjoy It While It Lasts' was reasonably well received - a breezy indie record. Their ambitions have since increased, as demonstrated by the moody 'All The Sad Young Men', the first single from their follow up album. We particularly like the atmospheric Fairewell remix of the single, which you can listen to below alongside the original track.

Remixed: Elliphant - Never Been In Love (RAC Remix)

There are some acts that you simply look forward to hearing anything new from - Andre Allen Anjos's RAC project is one such act. His 'Strangers' double album last year was a magnificent collection of summery synth-pop, and his latest effort continues that strong work. Remixed: Bipolar Sunshine - Daydreamer (Acropolis Sound Remix)

As someone who generally hates remixes, it's quite curious that I find Bipolar Sunshine's music so adaptable to an enjoyable remix - we featured the We The Wild remix of 'Drowning Butterflies' around this time last year, and now we have Acropolis Sound tweaking new single 'Daydreamer'.

Remixed: blink-182 - Feeling This (Ryan Hemsworth Remix)

Hotshot producer Diplo put on a Valentine's special this weekend, recruiting Canadian artist Ryan Hemsworth to lead proceedings with a mix on his BBC Radio 1xtra show, 'Diplo And Friends'. One of the undoubted highlights of the mix was his synth-heavy remix of blink-182's classic 'Feeling This', a live staple which is well deserving of a wider platform.

Remixed: Bleachers - I Wanna Get Better (RAC Mix)

The very last song I caught at this year's Glastonbury Festival was 'I Wanna Get Better' by Bleachers. It's probably my favourite song of 2014. And it's an anthem that I've particularly come back to quite a lot in the last few days, after I was run over on the way home. (I'm okay, relatively speaking.) With his usual aplomb, RAC has put together an ace remix of the track. Listen to both versions below.

We're pretty well aware that we play a fairly insignificant role in the grand scheme of things here at FADED GLAMOUR. But it was rather nice to hear that we helped introduce Brooklyn's Janna Pelle to Mancunian experimentalists boxboxbox - subsequently combining to create a remix of Pelle's 'Living A Lie'. Remixed: Fear Of Tigers - I Can Make The Pain Disappear (Feat. Robin Thicke)

Today, Robin Thicke received a bit of a kicking on Twitter, after trying to do an online #askThicke Q&A. Arguably, he deserved it. His mega-smash 'Blurred Lines' is unashamedly misogynistic. He does, however, possess a strong vocal. Which is why we're posting this (2009!) Fear Of Tigers remix of his track, 'Magic' - turning it into a piece of floor-filling electronic magic called 'I Can Make The Pain Disappear'.

Remixed: Bombay Bicycle Club - Feel (UNKLE Reconstruction)

Bombay Bicycle Club have developed with impressive maturity in the past few years, evolving their sound across a series of acclaimed albums. Earlier this year, they lived up to their name (sort of) with the Indian-influenced/sampled 'Feel'. The UNKLE reconstruction takes apart 'Feel', and puts it together with a whole host of new samples. Washington DC hip hop trio RDGLDGREEN (pronounced Red Gold Green) managed to nab both rapper Angel Haze and rock legend Dave Grohl for their new single, 'Lootin In London'. Pretty good going. Now they've also managed to get White Lies who take the visceral original and turn it into something of a club banger.
