Danish synth-pop duo Teenager Forever popped up briefly a couple of years back before taking stock and launching a new plan for world domination, beginning in 2019. Teaming up with Handsome Dad Records and Shoplift Productions (Troye Sivan producer Bram Inscore and filmmaker Lin Agnholt), it's been a successful restart.

'The Long Night', the third episode of Season Eight of 'Game Of Thrones', was highly anticipated, and for good reason. We know via Kit Harrington’s interview on 'The Late Show With Stephen Colbert' that it took 55 nights to film the episode, and we saw the army of the dead approach Winterfell. A battle was imminent, and we all presumed many of our key characters would die as Episode 2, 'A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms', was by and large a “goodbye” episode.

Can you feel it coming? Festival season is almost well and truly under way so we figured we'd try to pick out some brilliant UK music festivals that we also think are brilliant value for money. On a per capita band basis, Glastonbury Festival and its behemoth of a line-up should probably be on here but with tickets around £250 quid, we've understandably opted more for smaller scale festivals for those with a lower budget.

We've written about 65daysofstatic from the very earliest days of this website, many moons ago, and we're pleased to say that the post-somethingorother outfit are still going strong. Indeed, their new track 'KMF' is the first taste of a year-long subscription project with monthly releases through Bandcamp. The band claim that it'll be "better than Netflix". Bold.

Whenever we hear the name CAPPA, we immediately think of the tracksuit proprietors (Kappa, who surprisingly once sponsored Scottish post-rockers Mogwai) or Cillian Murphy's character in the fantastic 'Sunshine' (Capa) but this rising LA-based popstar is burrowing her own notable spot in popular culture. CAPPA returned with a bang recently, with her latest electro-pop single 'I Do'.

After a seemingly endless wait, the first episode of Season 8 of 'Game Of Thrones' graced our screens last Monday at 2 am. For me, I was on holiday in Sweden and planned to wake up at 3am to watch it live. Thankfully sense prevailed and I just watched it the moment I woke up at 6am to avoid any spoilers on social media. As expected though, spoilers for 'Winterfell' (S08E01) are ahead.

It's been a number of years since we first featured Gabrielle Aplin, who joined forces with BASTILLE to deliver a cover of 'Dreams' by Fleetwood Mac on the 2012 mixtape 'Other People's Heartache Pt 2'. She went onto mainstream success soon after, with a No.1 UK single and two successful albums, driven by a stripped-back folk-led sound. So the Taylor Swift-esque 'Nothing Really Matters' comes as something of a surprise. An infectious pop surprise.

Almost out of nowhere, Norway's finest proponents of orchestral pop Team Me returned in early 2019 with an expanded line-up and a new track, 'Blurry Precise', their first material since disbanding in 2015. They've been welcomed back with open arms on previous label, the excellent Propeller Recordings, and understandably so. Seemingly back to their very best, albeit with a twist, as shown on the more electronic-led 'The Future In Your Eyes'.

It seems that every week, a new shake-up emerges in terms of cinematic release mechanisms and 'Guava Island' is this week's pioneering film. Conceived by creative polymath Donald Glover (aka Childish Gambino) and his 'Atlanta'-directing collaborator Hiro Murai, musical drama 'Guava Island' premiered at this weekend's Coachella Festival in the States before landing on Amazon Prime - and better yet, is available to watch for free for all users for a (very) limited time.

We're not quite sure what Chris De Burgh thinks of new Irish musical outfit KRISDEBERG but we're hoping he views it as flattery. Perhaps De Burgh is in fact somehow involved with his namesake counterparts, although that would be quite the revelation. Check out the first offerings from these ones to watch below.

It's 25 years since the passing of iconic Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, who died by suicide on April 5th 1994. His work has thankfully lived on, through records like 1991's seminal 'Nevermind', which acts almost as a rite of passage for any alternative-leaning teenage music fan. Its opening track, 'Smells Like Teen Spirit', has been transformed into beguiling synthwave from Chinese outfit JUNKS.

The first few seconds of screeching in Sacred Paws' new track 'The Conversation' don't imbue great confidence, and yet the rest of the track is absolutely chuffing brilliant. Musically uplifting but lyrically fractious, it's arguably the Glaswegian indie-pop duo's most delightful work. Watch the video for 'The Conversation' below, the opening song on upcoming album, 'Run Around The Sun'.

Ghee is love, ghee is life. Whether new East London outfit On Video are talking about the clarified butter that is deservedly all the rage on the Indian sub-continent or not, we have an immediate positive association with their debut single of the same name. Listen to the barnstorming garage rock sound of 'Ghee' below.
